Sartopure® PP3 T-Style Maxicaps®
Sartopure® PP3 T-Style Maxicaps® are ready-to-use polypropylene fleece prefilters for particle reduction in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical process streams. The T-style capsule design combines an enclosed filter unit with flexible connection options, supporting convenient installation in process development, pilot-scale and manufacturing environments. With retention ratings from 0.45 µm to 50 µm, Sartopure® PP3 T-Style Maxicaps® help reduce particulate load and support protection of downstream membrane filters and process equipment.
Main Formats:
- T-Style Maxicaps®: Enclosed, ready-to-use capsule format designed for process filtration where handling efficiency and closed processing are important.
- Retention Ratings: Available from 0.45 µm to 50 µm to match different particle loads and prefiltration requirements.
- Connection Options: Offered with different connector configurations to support integration into existing process setups.
- Scalable Platform: Part of the Sartopure® PP3 product family, enabling consistent prefilter selection across development and manufacturing scales.
Applications:
- Downstream Filter Protection: Used upstream of membrane filters to help reduce particle burden and extend downstream filter usability within process-specific limits.
- Biopharmaceutical Clarification: Suitable for clarification steps in vaccine production, viral vector processing and other biopharmaceutical workflows.
- Pharmaceutical Process Filtration: Applicable for ophthalmic solutions, large-volume parenterals, antibiotics, solvents and other product-contact filtration steps.
- Process Development and Scale-Up: Supports evaluation and implementation of polypropylene fleece prefiltration in scalable bioprocess workflows.
- Closed or Enclosed Filtration Setups: The capsule format can support simplified handling compared with reusable housings.
Materials Used:
- Filter Medium: Polypropylene fleece with a multilayer structure for particle reduction and dirt-holding capacity.
- Support, Core and Housing: Polypropylene components for broad chemical compatibility.
- O-Rings: Silicone as standard, with EPDM or fluoroelastomer options depending on configuration.
- Product-Contact Design: All-polypropylene filter construction supports use in regulated biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical applications.
Advantages:
- Broad Retention Range: 0.45–50 µm options enable adaptation to different feed streams and clarification needs.
- Chemical Compatibility: Polypropylene construction supports use with many acids, bases and solvents within specified operating conditions.
- Low Unspecific Binding: Helps support product recovery in sensitive biopharmaceutical process streams.
- Low Extractables Profile: Designed for product-contact applications in regulated manufacturing environments.
- High Dirt-Holding Capacity: Multilayer fleece design supports effective particle loading and can help reduce prefilter changeouts depending on process conditions.
- Ready-to-Use Format: Enclosed Maxicaps® design reduces the need for separate filter housings and supports efficient setup.
- Sterilization Options: Suitable for autoclaving or in-line steam sterilization within the specified limits for the selected configuration.
Together, these features make Sartopure® PP3 T-Style Maxicaps® a practical prefiltration option for particle reduction, process flexibility and downstream filter protection in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
