Sartopure® GF Plus T-Style Maxicaps®
Sartopure® GF Plus T-Style Maxicaps® are ready-to-use capsule depth filters for clarification and prefiltration in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical process streams. The T-style capsule configuration supports integration into single-use assemblies and flexible process layouts. The two-layer adsorptive glass-fiber fleece combines adsorptive and mechanical retention to reduce colloids, lipids, protein aggregates and particles before downstream filtration or purification steps.
Main Formats:
- Retention Ratings: Available with 0.65 µm and 1.2 µm retention ratings to support selection according to feed stream composition, particulate load and downstream process requirements.
- T-Style Maxicaps® Format: Ready-to-use capsule format with T-style configuration for integration into disposable process assemblies.
- Single-Use Capsule Design: Enclosed filtration unit for applications where preassembled, disposable filtration components are preferred.
- Scalable Use: Suitable for process development, pilot-scale work and manufacturing applications, depending on selected size and process setup.
- Connector Options: Available with process-relevant connector configurations, such as Tri-Clamp or hose-barb options, depending on the selected article.
Applications:
- Cell Culture Harvest Clarification: Supports reduction of particles, colloids, lipids and protein aggregates in harvested cell culture fluids.
- Fermentation Broth Prefiltration: Suitable for clarification before downstream membrane filtration, chromatography or ultrafiltration steps.
- Media and Serum Filtration: Applicable for serum-free and serum-containing media, serum and process fluids with lipid or colloidal contaminants.
- Viscous Pharmaceutical Solutions: Can be used for prefiltration of viscous ophthalmic and large-volume parenteral solutions at appropriate process scale.
- Single-Use Bioprocessing: Designed for disposable processing lines where enclosed filtration units and flexible assembly layouts are required.
- Downstream Process Protection: Helps reduce particulate and colloidal load before membrane filters, chromatography columns and ultrafiltration systems.
Materials Used:
- Filter Medium: Two-layer glass-fiber fleece for combined adsorptive and mechanical retention.
- Support Material: Polypropylene support fleece.
- Capsule Housing: Polypropylene.
- Core and End Caps: Polypropylene.
- O-Rings: Silicone as standard, with EPDM or fluoroelastomer options depending on configuration and process requirements.
- Regulatory-Related Product Information: Non-pyrogenic according to USP Bacterial Endotoxins test and passes USP Plastic Class VI test, according to product documentation.
Advantages:
- T-Style Capsule Configuration: Supports flexible installation in single-use filtration assemblies and disposable process lines.
- Adsorptive Depth Filtration: The two-layer glass-fiber matrix supports reduction of colloids, lipids, protein aggregates and particles.
- Defined Retention Options: 0.65 µm and 1.2 µm ratings allow adaptation to different clarification and prefiltration needs.
- Ready-to-Use Handling: Enclosed capsule design can simplify setup compared with housing-based cartridge systems.
- Single-Use Integration: Suitable for workflows using disposable fluid paths and preassembled filtration units.
- Downstream Process Support: Helps reduce contaminant burden before final membrane filtration or purification operations.
- Process Flexibility: Different sizes and connector options support adaptation to development, pilot and manufacturing-scale setups.
- Sterilization Option: T-Style Maxicaps® can be autoclaved within specified operating limits.
Together, these features make Sartopure® GF Plus T-Style Maxicaps® a practical capsule depth filtration option for clarification, prefiltration and downstream process protection in single-use biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical workflows.
