Overview

Specifications

CIMmic® QA is a high-performance ion exchange column primarily intended for fast and efficient screening for purification of biomolecules such as viruses, adeno-associated viruses (AAV), and virus-like particles (VLP) through their ionic interaction with the monolith.

CIMmic is a line of small monoliths that provide an easy, budget‑friendly way to perform monolith chromatography using standard lab equipment. It offers an effortless way to start your process development.

The CIMmic line is the accessible entry point into CIM® monolith chromatography for laboratories that need fast, flexible, and meaningful process development at small scale. Designed for early‑stage method development and focused parameter screening, CIMmic helps scientists evaluate purification conditions without the need for complex automation, large sample volumes, or extensive chromatography infrastructure.

QA (quaternary amine) features:

  • Strong anion exchanger
  • Working range, pH 2–13
  • Binds molecules with a predominantly negative charge, repels molecules with a predominantly positive charge
  • Use for capture, intermediate, or polishing steps in either bind-elute or flow-through mode
  • High efficiency removal of endotoxin and DNA removal
  • Outstanding for preparative applications or analytical fingerprinting of process samples
  • Sanitizable with 1 M NaOH

Benefits:

  • Very fast processes by convective mass transport – resolution independent of flow
  • High-capacity for large molecules due to fully accessible void volume in the channels
  • Laminar flow minimizes shear stress resulting in high yields
  • Ideal for early process development and feasibility testing
  • Operable by syringe or FPLC
  • Low sample and buffer consumption
