CIMmultus® Monoliths are reusable chromatography devices for scalable high-resolution purification of complex biological samples. Inside the custom designed housing is a single piece stationary phase with homogeneous channel size and surface chemistry. This stationary phase is designed to simplify method transfer from development into production.
CIMmultus® columns can be used as single-use disposable or multi-use columns. They are available in a variety of volume ranges – from 1mL for screening and method development purposes up to 40L for industrial manufacturing.
CIMmultus® OH relies on hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC) to provide an excellent solution for the purification of large biomolecules, such as virus particles, VLPs and extracellular vesicles.
OH (hydroxy) features:
- Uncharged (neutral) ligand
- Working range, pH 2–10
- Retains very large solutes (virus particles, VLP, vesicles) in the presence of precipitating salts or polyethylene glycol, and elutes them with high resolution in order of increasing size
- Can be used as a pre-capture step to reduce most host cell impurities in AAV purification
- Elution with descending salt or polyethylene glycol
- Sanitizable with 1 M NaOH
Benefits:
- Very fast processes by convective mass transport – resolution independent of flow
- Ready to use columns
- High-capacity for large molecules due to fully accessible void volume in the channels
- Laminar flow minimizes shear stress resulting in high yields
