The BioPAT® Pinch Valve is operated by an electric drive. Its stepper motor ensures highly accurate positioning and robust performance during operation. The drive is available in two sizes: a smaller version designed for BioPAT® Pinch Valve sizes A and B, and a larger version intended for size B.
The system can be seamlessly integrated into Sartorius single-use upstream and downstream bioprocessing platforms via the Profinet® interface. This digital connectivity enables enhanced integration, control, and flexibility, while also improving monitoring of the motor’s maintenance status.
Once the tubing is properly installed and the valve lid is closed, the degree of opening can be precisely adjusted. This is achieved by moving the gripper and spindle—both connected to the motor—either toward or away from the lid.
The electric drives for the BioPAT® Pinch Valve achieve a minimum speed of 5 mm/s, regardless of the required force, when used with qualified tubing types and sizes.
For further information, please contact your application specialist. The expected service life of the electric drive is approximately 14.5 km of travel distance or 2,000 operating hours.
