Specifications
Choose your Vivaspin® PES Centrifugal Concentrators
Vivaspin® was the first centrifugal ultrafilter to feature crossflow technology, replacing polarization and membrane fouling with a much faster solution for sample concentration and buffer exchange. More than 30 years on, Vivaspin® still offers the widest range of molecular weight cut-offs (MWCOs) and capacities to suit most molecules and feed volumes, and the highest possible concentration factors in a single filter.
Fast Concentration
The now ubiquitous vertical membrane orientation was first introduced in Vivaspin®, bringing crossflow technology to spin filters, to prevent fouling and reduce concentration times.
Highest Concentration Factors
Concentrate your samples up 100x, 200x or even 400x in a single spin filter. By reducing transfer steps, you can reduce target molecule loss, handling time and costs.
Built for Most Samples
PES membranes with MWCOs for any target molecular weight or size are assembled into ultrafilters with capacities from 0.1 to 98 mL. Selected Vivaspin® ultrafilters are also available with Hydrosart® RC and CTA for applications that call for a different membrane chemistry.
Gentle Processing
Unique accessories (available separately) convert Vivaspin® 20 | 100 into pressure cells. By using positive gas pressure instead of centrifugation, shear stresses can be significantly reduced for sensitive samples such as protein complexes, enveloped viruses and nanoparticles, helping to maximize yield. Pressure cells are also ideal for greater, visual control over your concentration process.
Continuous Diafiltration
For feed volumes of 2 mL or less, Vivaspin® 20 enables buffer exchange in a single spin. Simply add your sample, fit the optional diafiltration cup and fill with your exchange buffer.
