SoloHill® microcarriers offer a high-performance, scalable platform for adherent cell expansion in modern bioprocessing, enabling robust 3D growth in bioreactors and effectively overcoming the constraints of traditional 2D culture systems.

SoloHill® Microcarriers are available in a range of surface chemistries designed to enhance cell attachment and growth across multiple adherent cell types and process designs. Options include protein-coated and non-coated, animal component-free (ACF) microcarriers, as well as positively charged and non-charged surface modifications.

Our ACF types - Plastic, Plastic-Plus, Star-Plus, and Hillex® II - support fully serum-free, animal component-free workflows.

All microcarrier types are manufactured from solid, modified, highly biocompatible polystyrene cores, facilitating efficient cell detachment at harvest while helping to maintain high cell viability and critical quality attributes throughout cell expansion.

SoloHill® Microcarriers are available in multiple product formats, including bottles and pre-sterilized Microcarrier Delivery System (MDS) bags. Ready-to-use MDS bags enable direct, aseptic connection and transfer into bioreactors, eliminating preparation steps prior to seeding. Customized MDS formats are available in bag sizes of up to 8 kg.
