The hydrophilic cellulose acetate membrane filters combine high flow rates, good chemical resistance (pH 4-8) and thermal stability with very low adsorption characteristics. They are excellently suited for use in pressure filtration devices. They are available in different pore and diameter sizes from 0.2 to 5 µm and from 13 mm to 293 mm respectively.
Polyethersulfone membrane filters are hydrophilic- have high flow rates- a low non-specific protein adsorption and are chemically resistant over a pH range of 1 – 14.
The regenerated cellulose membrane filters are made of regenerated cellulose reinforced with a cellulose nonwoven.
The white and hydrophilic polycarbonate track-etched membrane filters are manufactured from high grade polycarbonate film using track-etched technology.
The hydrophobic PTFE membrane filters are made of polytetra-fluorethylene (PTFE) only and are therefore permanently hydrophobic. Unlike hydrophilic filter types, they are not wetted by air humidity.
Polyamide membrane filters are hydrophilic and chemical resistant to alkaline solutions and organic solvents.
The cellulose nitrate (CN) or also called mixed cellulose ester (MCE) membrane filters are composed of cellulose nitrate and a small content of cellulose acetate. They are recommended for a broad range of applications like the filtration of aqueous solutions or for sample preparation.
